Congratulations on receiving your Summer Experience placement!
Each year, Summer Search hosts Community Hikes for sophomores. These 3-mile hike events also include activities and connection, similar to what you may experience this summer. They also offer you the chance to self-assess how physically ready you are for your summer experience.

Each participant is invited to a specific hike location due to the limited amount of people we can have at each hike.

WHAT TO BRING:
WHAT YOU'LL GET:
HOW TO GET TO YOUR HIKE:
Clothes to get dirty and sweaty in, sunscreen, 32oz of water, a hat, and backpack
You'll get a few things you get to keep! A pair of hiking boots, a Summer Search athletic T-shirt, and a reusable water bottle. Lunch will also be provided.
Option 1: You and your family will drive there (this is ideal if possible).
Option 2: You can possibly carpool with other Summer Searchers.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
Our Community Hikes are opportunities to have fun, connect, support each other, and enjoy the outdoors. You can look forward to:

Meeting other Summer Searchers -- some who may be in the same program as you!

Hiking with Jr. and Sr. Summer Searchers who went on the same or similar program as yours. Ask them anything!

Get to know some Summer Search staff members who are excited to support you

Getting your own pair of hiking boots and Summer Search swag to break in before you leave

Take a look at some of the outdoor gear we give you!

Experience some of the social & physical elements you may encounter this summer

Explore a regional park near you
