California College of the Arts
Immerse yourself in arts at the renowned California College of the Arts (CCA). CCA is an arts college located in San Francisco focused on fostering a sense of community and creativity. Join their 1-week, day-program Atelier program where you can find your artistic style, learn from practicing artists and professors, and either deepen your skills or try something new. Choose from a variety of workshops ranging from photography, graphic design, jewelry making, sculpture – the list goes on! No prior experience is needed for any of their studios – all are welcome!

Mix of students from all over. You may or may not have another Summer Searcher in your chosen workshop
Travel
Students coordinate transportation, if possible. Summer Search can support if needed

None - this is a day program, which means you'll go home at the end of each day.

Choose from over 12 workshops to focus on during your time at CCA. Workshops include: screen printing, animation, architecture & interior design, fashion design & textiles, illustration, metal arts, painting, and more!
In small classes, spend full days learning and practicing arts. Learn new techniques in the morning and practice them in the afternoon!
Explore campus and the surrounding area during your lunch break. Lunch is provided but you’ll also have the opportunity to step off campus to grab a snack, boba, coffee, etc.
Receive mentoring from practicing artists and professors leading your workshop
End the week with an exhibition where you can showcase what you’ve worked on that week. Friends and family are welcome to attend!
A dedicated, immersive space for you to explore your interest in the arts
Receive coaching from practicing artists, support from fellow peers, and a deepening practice of giving and receiving feedback
An idea of what college or arts school may feel like. You’ll have to manage your time and get to CCA every day (this program is not residential; you will need to commute every day)
CCA’s Atelier program ends with an exhibition where you can showcase your work. Many participants use this work to create a portfolio to use for other spaces or to apply for art & design school.
